Currently, the Legislative Bill “HB1643” has met the required number of co-sponsors. This bill now sits in the Professional Licensure Committee. The bill is an "Act regulating massage therapy; establishing the State Board of Professional Massage Therapists; providing for funds, for licensure, for disciplinary action and for remedies; imposing criminal penalties; and making an appropriation."

The Bill is by Representatives McCALL, BEBKO-JONES, BELARDI, B. On October 18, 2006, Senate Bill number SB 958 was introduced by State Senator Connie Williams.  This Bill is identical to HB 1643.  It is important  that everyone attempts to assist Senator Williams by calling Members of the State Senate to ask them to co-sponsor the draft bill.

We should not call Senators that are already co-sponsors.

Current co-sponsors are:  RAFFERTY, LOGAN, WOZNIAK, KITCHEN, FONTANA, MUSTO, EARLL, RHOADES, WONDERLING, CONTI.

If you live in a legislative district of a Representative who serves on the Professional Licensing Committee, we urge you to contact your Representative to express your goal for Massage Therapy Licensing and ask for their cooperation in reaching that goal so the bill can be passed to the House of Representatives for a vote.
